The origins of Optische Messtechnik date back to 2013, when it was founded as a spin-off from the Institute of Technical Optics (ITO) at the University of Stuttgart. The technology of confocal microscopy with microlenses, which is used by Optische Messtechnik, was developed back in the 1990s at the ITO under the direction of Prof. Tiziani. For almost two decades, this technology has been the subject of intensive research and continuous development. Optische Messtechnik has transformed this promising approach to confocal microscopy into a marketable product.
Our aim was not only to create a robust and reliable laboratory measuring device, but also to develop a compact and lightweight measuring device that opens up new application possibilities for integration into measuring systems and the automation of measuring processes in production.
